TAMPA, APRIL 20, 2017 – USF Athletics rolled out the red carpet to celebrate another memorable year made possible by the student-athletes, coaches and staff members at the fifth annual Stampede of Champions on Monday night.
USF’s teams were all decked out and dresses and suits at the Sun Dome for the Hollywood-style awards show ceremony that was emceed by women’s soccer player Jessica Hamrick, men’s soccer player Gabriel Menescal and former football player Marcus Wingate.
Nineteen awards were handed out to winners of categories that included team of the year (football, 11-2 record, Birmingham Bowl win), female athlete of the year (Evelyne Viens, soccer), male athlete of the year (Quinton Flowers, football), coaching staff of the year (women’s basketball) and most improved student-athlete (Maria Jespersen, women’s basketball).
