USF coach Willie Taggart said Tuesday morning he "could've chosen different words" Monday when he said he was making Ybor City off-limits to his players in the wake of the weekend stabbing death of former Bulls DL Elkino Watson.
Speaking during his normal Tuesday morning segment on WDAE-AM, Taggart called Ybor a "great part of our city," adding he and his wife visit the historic entertainment district.
"I think we all know when trouble's coming and we can continue to educate our guys on making the right decision," Taggart said.
"And I thought I could've chosen different words when I explained it (Monday); banning our guys from Ybor is probably not the right thing to say or do, because Ybor is a great part of our city here and we use Ybor in recruiting.
