Bulls Secure First Road Win at No. 23 Minnesota

TAMPA (Feb. 5, 2016)—The 13th-ranked USF men’s tennis team topped the No. 23 Minnesota Golden Gophers, 7-0, Friday night at the Baseline Tennis Center. The shutout victory ended a 16-match home win streak for the Golden Gophers and improved USF to 3-0 on the season.

USF clinched the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and 3 positions. Roberto Cid (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), was paired with Ignacio Gonzalez-Muniz (Gijon Asturas, Spain) in the No. 3 spot for a 6-2 victory.

Dominic Cotrone (Bradenton, Fla.) and Justin Roberts (Nassau, Bahamas) improved to 2-1 in doubles play, with a 6-4 victory over Minnesota’s Marino Alpeza/Ruben Weber.
