BROOKLYN, N.Y., SEPTEMBER 7, 2018 – The USF volleyball team continued its strong play with two four-set wins Friday to begin the Blackbird Invitational, first defeating George Washington before downing LIU Brooklyn.
The Bulls (7-1) used 12 aces to defeat the Colonials (2-5) in the first match of the day (25-18, 25-16, 20-25, 25-18). Redshirt senior middle blocker Clara Payne (Osteen, Fla.) and sophomore Jaeden Brown (Hollywood, Fla.) each had 13 kills to lead the way. Senior setter Briana Stowell (Orlando) had a double-double with 39 assists and 12 digs in the win, as she led the match with a four aces.
