Herget, a sixth-round pick by Cincinnati, picked up the save in the Billings Mustangs’ Pioneer League victory over Missoula on Saturday, June 20. The former American all-conference selection struck out a pair of batters and did not allow a hit in a scoreless ninth frame. Check out Herget’s pro baseball bio page HERE.
Herget headed to the rookie league with plenty of momentum after leading USF starters with a 10-3 record and a 2.92 ERA this past season. The Tampa native finished his collegiate career with a 1.96 ERA, 24 wins and his 263 career strikeouts rank seventh on the program’s all-time list.
