TAMPA, SEPT. 11, 2015 - A top-8 first round finish from senior Aksel Olsen propelled the University of South Florida men's golf team into the middle of a tight field after the first round of the Carpet Capital Collegiate Friday.
Olsen used six birdies to card a 71 (-1) on the 7,012-yard, par-72 course at The Farm in Dalton, Ga., helping send the 11th-ranked Bulls into a tie for 7th place with a 297 (+9) first-round finish. USF will enter the second round of a 54-hole tournament just a single stroke behind Clemson for sixth place, and 11 strokes out of first.
