USF senior Aksel Olsen, individual medalist at last week's American Athletic Conference tournament, has been named the league's player of the year by its coaches.
Bulls coach Steve Bradley, whose squad begins play Monday in the NCAA's Albuquerque (N.M.) Regional, was named Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.
A unanimous player of the year choice, Olsen shot a 7-under-par 209 to win the 54-hole AAC tourney -- held at Lecanto's Black Diamond Ranch -- by a stroke. The Bulls, who placed four individuals among the top six, won their third conference crown in four years with a wire-to-wire triumph at Black Diamond.
