LUBBOCK, Texas (Nov. 7, 2015)—The USF women’s tennis team picked up two wins on the opening day of the Texas Tech Invitational Friday in Lubbock.
In singles play, the Bulls faced off against Kansas with freshman Ana Roman Dominguez picking up the lone singles win for USF. Dominguez defeated Smith Hinton, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Jessica Cortes Chaves and Olga Martinez each battled to three sets against their Jayhawk opponents, but could not hang on for the victories.
In doubles, two pairs of USF players faced off against teams from host Texas Tech. Vera Bessonova and Olga Martinez picked up a 6-2 win, while Juliana Cardosa and Jessica Cortes Chaves fell 6-1.
