TAMPA (May 16, 2015) – A heart-stopping, bases-loaded double play in the ninth inning sealed the series win for the USF baseball team as they held off the UCF Knights in a thrilling 5-4 victory.
Tommy Peterson picked up his league-leading 15th save of the year in a stress inducing ninth inning. A single, error and walk loaded the bases with just one out. Tommy Williams grounded into a 6-4-3 double play, ending the game and giving the Bulls the win.
UCF (31-25, 10-14 American) took an early 2-0 lead on a Eugene Vazquez two RBI triple in the top of the second inning.
