WICHITA, KAN., May 5, 2019 – In an intense game at the Wilkins Softball Stadium, USF took down the shockers, 1-0, to clinch its second straight American Athletic Conference regular season title, its third in four years.
The Bulls (39-17, 17-4) entered the matchup needing just one game to clinch the title and post the best American Athletic Conference record in league history. USF, voted on by conference coaches as the preseason favorite, won five American Athletic Conference series by way of sweeps. The Bulls dropped their first two games with the Shockers ( to make for a meaningful regular season finale in Wichita, Kan.
