The skies were partly cloudy and the Bulls partly bedecked (shorts, shirts, helmets) Thursday morning, but the newfangled offense was anything but partly-throttle.
An increased tempo, launched in spring practice, emerged as the focal point of the Bulls' inaugural preseason workout Thursday at the Morsani Complex.
Making a concerted effort to get the snap off with double-digit seconds remaining on the play clock, dueling quarterbacks Quinton Flowers and Steven Bench directed a crisp two-hour, 15-minute workout confined to Bulls veterans (first-year players practiced earlier in the morning).
"Today, they did a great job," said senior Jamie Byrd, the "husky" in new defensive coordinator's 4-2-5 alignment.
