TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 25, 2024 – After experiencing a 55-minute weather delay, South Florida men's soccer (0-1-1) tied Mercer (0-1-1), nil-nil, on Sunday night at Corbett Stadium in Tampa, Fla.
Both squads combined for 11 fouls and four yellow cards, while only totaling 18 shots throughout the 90-minutes of action.
The Bears attempted to control the match in the first 45', outshooting the Bulls 5-2. Graduate goalkeeper had three very impressive saves for the Bulls in the first frame. Schaefer's first save of the night came against former Bull on a penalty kick. He then blocked two more shot fired by the Bears in the 18th and 36th minutes.
