Broward Sheriff's deputy briefly jailed on felony battery charge

A Broward Sheriff's Office deputy turned himself in to the Broward Main Jail on Monday after the State Attorney's Office issued a warrant for his arrest.

Deputy Justin Lambert, 34, was booked into jail at 2:34 p.m. on charges of felony battery resulting in great bodily harm and falsifying a public or court record, jail records show. He was released on an unspecified bond after about three hours.

The charges stem from a Feb. 18, 2014, incident at a Texaco gas station at 4517 N. Dixie Hwy. in Deerfield Beach. A video captured an arrestee being struck and thrown to the ground before being handcuffed.
