Per his own Instagram, University of South Florida wide receiver Ryeshene Bronson will be out for the season due to having surgery on his right shoulder.
The senior dislocated his right shoulder during practice on August 10 when cornerback Deatrick Nichols hit him during team drills. The team was in shells (helmets and shoulder pads) that day and the offense did not like what Nichols did, thinking there was some malice in the hit. I didn’t believe so, but things got heated well after the play before eventually calming down.
Full disclosure: I knew exactly what happened the day of the injury but was asked by USF to hold off on announcing anything until he could be properly checked out by team doctors and once he was checked out we didn’t to put the team at a competitive disadvantage.
