A middle school student crossing the street to get to a bus stop was struck by a car in the 10500 block of Taft Street early Tuesday, according to Pembroke Pines police.

The boy was taken by ambulance to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, said Capt. Al Xiques.

The boy was struck in the street by a eastbound vehicle at 8:14 a.m., Xiques said. The child was one of four students headed for the bus stop, Xiques said.

No other children were injured.

Xiques said school resource officers and the child's family were being notified.
