A man suffered a head injury and a teen was burned when a boat exploded at a Dania Beach marina Wednesday.
"It's like you were standing on top of a firework," said Stephen Armellini, who was standing behind the wheel of the boat when it exploded. "I've never heard a boom quite like that before."
Armellini, who owns the 28-foot Pursuit, moored the boat alongside the fuel dock at Harbour Towne Marina, 801 NE Third St., about 3:30 p.m. He pumped 100 gallons of fuel into the boat, got back on and started the engine.
"There was a big boom with a big flash," he said.
