GAINESVILLE, April 13, 2018 – David Bell set a new USF record in the pole vault on an exciting Friday at the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville.
A junior out of Jacksonville, Bell won the pole vault with a mark of 17-7.00, taking the school record by 2.75 feet. The previous USF outdoor record of 17-4.25 had stood for 14 years, set by Jonathon Miller in 2004. With his vault in Gainesville, Bell has now set both the indoor and outdoor school records in 2018. He set the USF indoor pole vault record at the Samford Invitational in February with a mark of 17-5.
