Baseball to Shave Heads for One of their Own

The Vs. Cancer Foundation was founded by Chase Jones, a former University of North Carolina baseball player, who was diagnosed with Stage IV brain cancer as a college freshman. Jones beat cancer and worked with multiple childhood cancer organizations before establishing the foundation in 2012.

The funds raised will be split between the Vs. Cancer Foundation and Tampa General Children’s Hospital. To date, the Bulls have raised $12,775 in donations, which ranks seventh amongst 65 teams participating.

This is the first season the Bulls have participated, but it hits extremely close to home. Last season, the team adopted a ten-year old cancer patient named Nick Wolf.
