TAMPA (March 20, 2021) – The USF baseball team (0-2) dropped both games of a doubleheader to Florida Gulf Coast (2-0) to open the 2021 season at USF Baseball Stadium Saturday.
FGCU outlasted USF in extra innings of the opener, 4-1, before claiming the nightcap with an 11-6 victory.
Jack Jasiak (Spring Hill) posted a quality start in Game 1 while earning and no-decision and freshman Matt Ruiz (Haileah) went 5-for-11 at the plate on the day.

Jasiak and FGCU's Mason Studstill were locked in a pitcher's duel which extended into each team's bullpen.
