As expected, Bulls coach Orlando Antigua's name has surfaced as a potential candidate to replace Jamie Dixon at Pittsburgh.
Dixon resigned after 13 seasons and one Elite Eight appearance to take the job at TCU, his alma mater. Whether Antigua, 17-48 in two seasons at USF, is a bona fide contender to return to his alma mater remains to be seen.
Matthew Steinbrink, who covers Pitt hoops for Rivals, reported via Twitter he has heard Antigua and one of his USF predecessors -- Seth Greenberg -- have "reached out" regarding the job.
A two-time Panthers captain, Antigua played at Pitt from 1991-95, making the Big East All-Rookie team in 1992.
