On the heels of Barber Foods’ recall of 1.7 million pounds of frozen, stuffed, raw chicken products, Aspen Foods announced that it is recalling 1.9 million pounds of similar products after three people in Minnesota were infected with Salmonella enteritidis after eating the company’s cordon bleu stuffed chicken breast.
Aspen’s products were distributed nationwide under brand names including Sysco, Safeway Kitchens, Kirkwood and Antioch Farms. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has posted the complete list of recalled products online.
The frozen, raw, stuffed and breaded chicken items were produced between April 15, 2015, and July 10, 2015, with “best if used by” dates between July 14, 2016, and Oct.
