8 hurt when man, 85, drives SUV into Fort Lauderdale dry cleaning store

At least five people were hurt, one seriously, after an SUV slammed through the front of a dry cleaning business in Fort Lauderdale on Friday.

It was shortly before 9 a.m. when the black Cadillac vehicle slammed into the DryClean USA at 749, SE 17th Street and went completely inside the business, officials said.

Two of those who were hurt were inside the vehicle and it's believed the three others were inside the business. It's not known if they were customers or employees.

To reduce the hazard risk, gas and water to the business were shut off shortly after the crash happened, according to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.
