USF baseball 3B David Villar was selected with the third pick of the 11th roundby the San Francisco Giants in the 2018 MLB First Year Player Draft on Wednesday.
He joins fellow Bulls Shane McClanahanand Andrew Perez as members of the 2015 recruiting class who have been drafted early with 29 (!!!) more rounds to go before the end of the day.
Much like McClanahan and Perez, Villar was a part of that stellar class that helped turn USF baseball around under former head coach Mark Kingston and had a monster season in 2018 at the plate.
