With disheartening loss and tough stretch ahead, Gamecocks pledge to ‘stay together’

Saturday night’s result could send South Carolina’s football team in a few different directions.

The first half of the 24-10 loss to Kentucky was about as disheartening to Gamecocks players and fans as one could imagine. The second half wasn’t that much better. USC is effectively three games back in the SEC East to two teams.

It’s the kind of game that can send a team down a bad road, but one Gamecock promised it won’t.

“We’re going to stay together as a team and work on that as a team and do what we have to do to get better as a team,” quarterback Jake Bentley said.
