COLUMBIA — This time, A’ja Wilson struck well before the final buzzer.
One year after hitting a jumper at the horn to beat Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium, the South Carolina sophomore scored a career-high 28 points to power the second-ranked Gamecocks past No. 14 Duke 66-55 on Sunday at Colonial Life Arena.
Duke led by as many as 10 in the second half, but South Carolina (8-0) rallied behind its inside game and a defense which held the Blue Devils (7-1) scoreless for five minutes in the fourth quarter.
South Carolina stretched its home winning streak to 37 games, the longest active streak in the nation.
