Will Muschamp fielding women’s basketball questions? That’s what happens when the first three-time women’s SEC player of the year, one who has won a national championship, is on the same campus.
Muschamp had a pre-spring news conference Tuesday, the same day Gamecocks senior center A’ja Wilson was named the conference’s top women’s basketball player for a third time.
When asked about the difficulty of Wilson’s three-feat, Muschamp praised it without hesitation.
“It’s extremely difficult. Especially other than UConn, SEC women’s basketball is the best in the country,” Muschamp said. “A’ja is from Columbia and she’s came here and accomplished everything she wanted to accomplish as a player and as an individual, but also as a team in winning a national championship and multiple SEC championships.
