South Carolina's Sindarius Thornwell
Thornwell, a 6-foot-5, 211-pound senior guard from Lancaster, S.C., averaged 36 points, 12.5 rebounds and three assists against Alabama and Mississippi State. In a four-overtime thriller against Alabama, Thornwell scored a career high 44 points, becoming the first Gamecock to score 40 or more in a game since 1986. Thornwell's 21 rebounds are the most by a Gamecock since 1993. His 25 free throws marked an SEC record for made free throws in a conference game, while his 25 makes and 33 attempts were new school records. He followed the historic performance with 28 points in a road win at Mississippi State.
