USC's club golf team gets starring role at nationals

There’s little doubt the club golf team at the University of South Carolina received more than its share of publicity at the National Collegiate Club Golf Association Fall National Championship held in late November in San Antonio.

The Gamecocks finished 30th after being assessed 104 penalty strokes because they had to leave without playing the final three holes in order to catch a return flight. That also meant they were unable to achieve their stated goal of beating Clemson, which finished third.
