South Carolina’s offensive line had to hear all offseason about the strength of the North Carolina State defensive line it would face to open 2017.
After getting to experience the Wolfpack group firsthand, the Gamecocks had a level of respect for it, but it wasn’t beyond what they’d experienced before.
“They had a really good D-line, honestly,” left tackle Malik Young said. “I give the utmost respect to them. They’re well-coached. But at the end of the day, I honestly feel like we’ll play better D-lines in the SEC than we saw today.”
Young played the second half of last season at right tackle.
