COLUMBIA — South Carolina will name its indoor practice facility for Steve and Jerri Spurrier, and is one step closer to building a $50 million football operations center right next to it.
USC’s Board of Trustees on Tuesday gave final approval to naming the indoor facility for the Spurriers, and initial full-board approval to the football operations building. The naming of the indoor facility will likely take place in the spring, USC athletic director Ray Tanner said after the meeting, while the operations center now becomes a state project subject to several more layers of approval.
The football operations building received initial approval last month from the board’s Buildings and Grounds Committee.
