COLUMBIA — The South Carolina men’s basketball program will have three more scholarships available for this coming season after head coach Frank Martin announced Tuesday that a trio of players will not be returning to USC.
Demetrius Henry, Shamiek Sheppard and Reggie Theus Jr. have all asked for their release and will leave South Carolina, Martin said. Henry and Sheppard had been suspended for the final month of last season for conduct detrimental to the team, while Theus played sparingly as a sophomore.
Henry, a 6-9, 226-pound sophomore forward, had previously announced his plan to transfer via his Twitter feed.
