COLUMBIA — South Carolina said goodbye to a three-time All-American after last season, one of three senior starters to depart the Gamecocks’ women’s basketball program. And yet, USC opened practice for the coming campaign with perhaps as much offensive talent as head coach Dawn Staley has ever had.
Tiffany Mitchell is gone, off to a professional career that included an WNBA All-Rookie nod with the Indiana Fever, and will continue in Russia. But USC has a pair of All-ACC transfers who are eligible for this season, and will complement the returning inside duo of All-Americans A’ja Wilson and Alaina Coates.
