The State newspaper of Columbia reports that Spurrier had an option in his contract that allowed him to remain at South Carolina as an ambassador after his resignation. Athletic director Ray Tanner confirmed the news that Spurrier will stick around.
“He has exercised that option,” Tanner told The State.
The newspaper is also reporting that Spurrier will make $100,000 a year in this position.
Spurrier joined The Paul Finebaum Show on the SEC Network to talk about his new position with the university and shared what he’ll be doing for the school.
