And why should it? At 70, the head football coach at South Carolina is as sharp and as spry as ever, as he showed by captivating the SEC Media Days crowd this week with a barrage of quips and jabs. He may sport a little more gray hair under that visor, but he still keeps himself in shape, still has the mind which created one of the most revolutionary offenses in college football history, and still seems enthusiastic about what he still has left to accomplish at USC.
While he clearly has fewer year ahead of him than behind, harping on his age is missing the point.
