The SEA might not be parting, but the SEC could be for South Carolina.
The Gamecocks improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the SEC on Saturday night by thumping Missouri 31-13 in front of 55,023 fans at Faurot Field. South Carolina was a 2.5-point underdog but was in control of the game for the final 40 minutes.
On its own, the game was a sign of progress for the Gamecocks. They were 1-10 in their past 11 road games entering the night, but now have won twice this year without playing in Williams-Brice Stadium.
The game could be even bigger for what it might mean.
