South Carolina baseball coach Mark Kingston speaks after the Gamecocks' series loss to Auburn. By
South Carolina baseball will have to wait an extra day before opening its SEC series at Alabama, as heavy rain forecasted for the Tuscaloosa area postponed the Gamecocks and Crimson Tide’s series opener on Thursday.
The two teams will instead play a doubleheader on Friday, starting at 2:30 p.m. eastern. Both games of the doubleheader will be televised on the SEC Network.
USC is coming off a 10-8 upset of No. 3 NC State this past Tuesday at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte and attempting to bounce back from a 2-7 start to SEC play that has coach Mark Kingston’s club in second-to-last place in the SEC East.
