South Carolina’s defense is looking to further improve in its second season under coach Will Muschamp. The team has a lot of unproven players, however, and these are the five whose success could most impact that side of the ball.
1. Javon Kinlaw, defensive lineman
It seems weird to put him so high considering he’s never played a down at a four-year school, but what he provides could prove vital. The USC defensive line has solid pieces and young players, but Kinlaw represents the highest-ceiling talent coming in (and maybe overall on the line). The Gamecocks need a lot more up front, and he might be that player.
