GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The No. 1-seeded Gamecocks edged out the No. 2-seeded Bulldogs 59-49 in a rematch of last year's conference title game to win the SEC Championship. South Carolina joins Tennessee as the only two SEC schools to win three straight SEC Championships in women's basketball.
Kaela Davis was on fire, scoring 23 points and notching five rebounds. Standout A'ja Wilson racked up 15 points, nine rebounds and three steals.
Junior Morgan William scored 14 points for Mississippi State and went 7-for-13 shooting. Teaira McCowan added another 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Mississippi State outscored South Carolina 19-11 in the third quarter, but the Gamecocks pulled away in the fourth, scoring 19 points.
