South Carolina vs. USC Upstate Game Recap: Gamecocks Beat Spartans 6-3

South Carolina bounced back after a rough weekend in Missouri with a midweek victory over USC Upstate on Tuesday.

The Gamecocks got on the board first, taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run homer by Carlos Cortes. That lead was short-lived, as the Spartans ended the shutout in the second inning with an RBI single, then tied the game on an RBI groundout.

The game was only tied until the bottom of the second, though, when Justin Row homered for the first time as a Gamecock. With one out and runners on the corners, Jonah Bride came through with an RBI base hit to make it 4-2 South Carolina.
