South Carolina needed a rally to do it, but the Gamdcocks had just enough offense on Tuesday night to earn another midweek victory.
USC got on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Luke Berryhill and Jacob Olson took back-to-back walks to start the game and Brady Allen brought Olson home with a two-out RBI single. The 49ers tied the game at 1-1 in the next inning on a wild pitch, and a two-out solo shot in the fourth inning gave them a 2-1 lead.
Charlotte added another run in the top of the fifth inning on an RBI double, and then it was the Gamecocks’ turn to tie things up.
