After an offensive explosion to end the weekend, the Gamecocks’ bats were much quieter on Tuesday, but they did enough to come away with another win.
Appalachian State took an early lead, going up 1-0 in the first inning after a single and a double. Fortunately for South Carolina, that was the end of the Mountaineers’ scoring for the day.
The Gamecocks also didn’t trail for long, as they tied things up in the second inning when Jake Olson homered with one out to make it 1-1. The tie didn’t last long either, because USC took the lead in the next inning.
