South Carolina now has a new highest-rated commitment in its 2018 recruiting class.
Four-star wide receiver Josh Vann took hold of that distinction when he committed to the Gamecocks on Saturday.
The 5-foot-10½, 175-pound Vann, from Tucker (Ga.) High, made his commitment following his team’s season-opening 28-27 overtime win over Kell at Georgia State Stadium (formerly Turner Field) in Atlanta. He had seven catches for 157 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.
Vann, who was considered a South Carolina lean, picked the Gamecocks over Georgia. He also has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Tennessee and others.
