Malik Young, who started at right tackle for South Carolina last season, likely will be the Gamecocks’ starting left tackle in the season-opening game against North Carolina State, offensive line coach Eric Wolford said.
“We are going to probably start Malik right now at this time,” Wolford told The State newspaper of Columbia.
The qualifiers “right now” and “at this time” could be important. Young struggled at times on the right side last season, and while he moved to the left side in spring football, it wasn’t a given that he would start this fall.
