South Carolina’s Korey Banks has a new position going into his sophomore season this fall.
Gamecocks coach Will Muschamp told reporters Sunday that Banks has moved from wide receiver to cornerback. His jersey number also will change from No. 7 to No. 23.
Banks played in six games last season as a true freshman. He had one catch for five yards, which came in the Birmingham Bowl against South Florida at the end of the season.
Banks, who is 5-foot-11 and 187 pounds, was a three-star prospect out of Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek in the 2016 recruiting class.
