Former Miami offensive coordinator Thomas Brown was hired Wednesday as an assistant coach at South Carolina at a salary of $300,000 per year. He will take the spot of tight ends coach Pat Washington, who will not be retained for 2019, according to a source.
Brown’s hiring was approved Wednesday morning by the school’s board of trusteers. Brown, who has a two-year contract, is expected to coach running backs with current running backs coach Bobby Bentley moving to the tight ends position.
The USC board also extended offensive line coach Eric Wolford’s contract by two years through the 2021 season and raised his annual salary by $100,000 to $700,000 total.
