South Carolina grabs spirited win over South Florida, 81-63

The Gamecocks are 8-0 for the first time since 2003 - the last time they made the NCAA Tournament.

The first meeting pitting two Hispanic-American coaches was historical in its own right. The result proved memorable as well for the Gamecocks. South Carolina outdueled South Florida 81-63 on Saturday afternoon at Colonial Life Arena.

USC's Frank Martin and USF's Orlando Antigua, friends and people of Hispanic descent, met in this weekend's game that is believed to be the first game where two Hispanic-American college coaches have played against one another.

Martin's win means his team has now matched the program's best start to a season since 2003 - the last year they made the NCAA Tournament.
