COLUMBIA, S.C. – After scoring 17 or fewer points in each of its past three games, it was no secret South Carolina needed to find new ways to produce points. What wasn’t expected was that the breakout scoring game might be fueled by the defense.
The Gamecocks broke a 10-point game open in the third quarter. Linebacker Skai Moore intercepted Austin Allen and returned it 34 yards for a score. A sack of Allen by Dante Sawyer on the Razorbacks’ next drive jarred the ball loose, and linebacker T.J. Brunson raced 73 yards with the recovery to make it 34-10 South Carolina.
