The South Carolina Gamecocks will take on FCS opponent Western Carolina this afternoon at 4pm in Williams-Brice Stadium. With a win, the Gamecocks will reach bowl eligibility for the first time since 2014, so all eyes will be on Jake Bentley and his team to see if they’ll be able to reach that mark.
The 2-8 Catamounts face their second FBS opponent of the season. On September 3, they suffered a 52-7 defeat at the hands of East Carolina. If we’re applying the transitive property, the Gamecocks beat East Carolina 20-15 - that’s not really relevant to this particular game, of course, but it’s something to point out, at least.
