The Gamecocks once again let their opponent hang around for most of the game before pulling away, but they stayed perfect in the Rainbow Wahine Showdown and on the season. The victory over Hawaii improves South Carolina's record to 7-0.
South Carolina and Hawaii went back and forth early in the first quarter, but the Gamecocks came out of the first ten minutes with a 17-14 lead. The game remained close throughout the second quarter as well and the Gamecocks went to halftime hanging on to a 29-22 lead. South Carolina finally stretched the lead to double digits late in the third quarter and entered the final ten minutes of play with 51-35 lead.
