South Carolina falls to No. 6 Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Four two-out runs propelled No. 8 national seed Florida State (50-8) to a 4-0 win over South Carolina (37-22) in the winner's bracket game on Saturday afternoon in the 2016 Tallahassee Regional.

The seventh-ranked Seminoles claimed a 2-0 lead with two down in the sixth. Carsyn Gordon singled up the middle, scoring Jessica Warren and Sydney Broderick after Warren started the frame with a double and Broderick drew a one-out walk. The duo moved into scoring position on Zoe Casas' fly to deep center. Florida State added insurance in the seventh with consecutive two-out doubles by Ellie Cooper, Warren and Alex Powers.
